Looking for a new Home...

Welcome, I hope you enjoy seeing these wonderful little dogs that are looking for a good home. If you find a listing that you are interested in, please fill out a "Rescue Home Application" and press send.

To rescue a Yorkie, a minimum donation to Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue is required based upon on the age and condition of the dog and medical expenses incurred (beginning at $150) plus a $25 fee for Microchipping. Each dog is Microchipped before going to it's new home. Read about our Microchip Policy here.

Most Yorkies are adopted within their home states. If you are interested in a Yorkie that is not in your home state, you may still send an inquiry, however, every effort is first made to place the dogs locally, however in some circumstances we do allow the adopted families to come pick the dogs from their foster home.

We tend to have more people willing to rescue our Yorkies than we have dogs available. While this may mean that you may have to wait a considerable amount of time before a rescue becomes available, it is the best possible situation for our Yorkies needing new "forever" homes.

Not all dogs get a chance to get their photo on the web page. So just because you don't see your state on the page, does not mean there isn't a dog for you. You must fill out the form to be put on the waiting list, and someone in your area will contact you.

If you have a Yorkie needing a rescue, please fill out the form listed below.

He is house trained, 8 lbs, neutered, up to Date on his shots, microchipped, and just had his beautiful white teeth cleaned. He is active, walks well on lead, has "spring" in his legs. Jax
Adoption donation $250

Jax

This is Jax. Jax is a 6 year old Yorkie boy. He weighs around 10 pounds, is up to date on his vaccines and will be neutered within the next few weeks. Jax was rescued from a shelter who was not caring for him at all. Jax was sick with an infection and they were doing nothing to help him. He could have died without vet care. But, he is now good to go and is a happy little boy!

Jax loves his foster brothers and plays well with them, but he would do well in a home with one other friendly dog close to his age and size, or no dogs if he has a stay at home mom/dad. Jax loves to go for walks and he is just a real sweet little boy. If you would like to meet Jax, list him on your application. He will need a safe yard and no small/young children. Adoption donation is $250 (microchip included).

Queenie
Adoption donation $300

Queenie

This is Queenie. I guess her mom thought she was until Queenie became no longer useful to her…Queenie was rescued from a high kill shelter here in the LA area and she is grateful to be out of there. Queenie is around 6 years old, she weighs 5 pounds and she is your typical little Yorkie girl. She gets along with her foster siblings, but when she is with mom, she wants them to stay far away. Queenie is spayed, up to date on her shots and microchipped.

Since Queenie has not been with us long and we are still learning about her personality, we will update any significant changes. However, generically, Queenie needs a safe backyard because she does like to be outside in nice weather, no small children and we are still trying to determine if she needs a 4-legged friend or not. Maybe by the time you start applying for her, we will know. Adoption donation is $300 (microchip included).

Savannah
Adoption donation $500

Savannah

Meet Savannah…6 ½ pounds of love and affection. She is two years old and has her litter record. She has lived a dual life as an only dog in an abusive home and also as part of a loving family with two other dogs. Her personality is indicative of the loving family, but she likes being an only child. She prefers to go everywhere with her foster mom and her small size makes that very easy. She will also stay alone at home quietly waiting for her family to return.

Her foster mom has to be the leader of the pack with Savannah to keep her from bossing all her foster siblings around. If left alone she could hoard all the toys and growl at any furry friend that might like to take one, even with a 50 pound pup she is fostered with. The abusive home lost custody and the loving family finally gave her up because of her dominate behavior toward the other dogs in their family. Her foster family is having no problem with her being a part of the pack, but they have to be on their toes at all times.

Savannah is great at the off leash dog park, and on a walk on her leash, she will meet and sniff other dogs politely. She just prefers not to share her home, toys and family with other dogs if she doesn’t have to. She loves having access to the yard with a doggie door and is completely housebroken. She rides politely in the car and enjoys the office with her foster mom on some days. She will sleep in an open door kennel but would much prefer your bed and under the covers if you don’t mind.

Savannah would do best going to a home where she can be the queen bee and live the life of an only child. If she goes to a family with other pets it would have to be a family with a lot of experience with strong willed pups. Savannah is up to date on her immunizations, spayed and microchipped. Ideally Savannah is looking for a stay at home mom/dad with no other dogs, an enclosed backyard, no children and a doggy door. She will continue to flourish if she is placed in the right home. Adoption donation is $500 (microchip included).

Sparky
Adoption donation $250

Sparky

Meet Sparky. He is an adorable Yorkie mix who is around 6 years old and weighs about 15 pounds. He loves to follow his foster mom where ever she goes…until foster dad comes home then Sparky will follow him around and go between the two. He is not much into toys, but he loves to be with you and give kisses; lots and lots of kisses. Sparky does well with his foster siblings and he is not alpha in any way, he just wants to be loved.

Sparky loves going to the groomers…he had so much fun there being a flirt with the girls and the other dogs. He enjoys long walks; where ever you want to go. Sparky would do good in most any home as long as he is loved. He is up to date on shots, micro-chipped, neutered and ready to go. Whoever gets to take him home is going to be a very lucky family...Sparky is a great dog. In his new home, he is looking for another doggy who lives there, a yard to explore in, no small children and lots of hugs and kisses! Adoption donation is $250 (microchip included).

Sebastian
Adoption donation is not yet determined

Sebastian

Meet Sebastian. He is an adorable special needs little guy. He is 7 years old and weighs 2 pounds. He is really skinny though, so foster mom is trying to fatten him up a bit. He just came to rescue and not yet available for adoption.

Sebastian has liver disease and will need a special diet, medication and frequent vet visits for the rest of his life. He has barely any teeth and does much better with canned food. He has a long history of hypoglycemia so care must be taken that he does not go hungry. He will do best in a home where someone is around most of the day to keep an eye on him. Most of all, he needs a mom/dad who is an experienced dog owner and can commit to provide the kind of care he needs to live a healthy life.

We will update his write-up when he’s ready for a new home or when significant developments occur. If you are interested in adopting him, you may fill out an application form. However, we will not be processing it until he is ready.

Ginger & Pip
Adoption donation for both is $150.00

Ginger & Pip

Meet Ginger (red/blonde), 14 years old, weighs 5 pounds and Pip (silver), 14 years old, weighs 3 pounds. They are two little girls that were dumped at an LA Shelter when their family didn’t want to take care of them anymore. They were never treated good as they were not spayed, full of tumors and their teeth/mouth were so infected, they could hardly eat!

These two little girls are as sweet as they come and they are starved for attention. Neither girl acts their age. Ginger is full of energy and Pip just wants to be with her foster mom; on her lap. Both girls are up to date on their vaccines, microchipped and are getting their dentals next week so when you see this write-up, they will be good to go…to a family who has time to spend with them, has a calmer household, no children, at least a private patio and hopefully no other dogs so that they can have all of your love and attention. And of course, has a lap for these little ones to spend most of their time in and as small as they are, both can fit.

If you give these two little senior girls a loving home to live out their lives, you will be just as happy as they will be. Both girls do need to stay together. Adoption donation for both is $150 (microchips included).

Teddy Boo
Adoption donation $425

Teddy Boo

Updated 6/25/10
Teddy is doing so extremely well that his foster mom feels he is ready to go to his new home. He is so sweet and lovable that he will just melt your heart when you meet him. Be sure that you read our initial write-up below to ensure that you have the kind of home that Teddy needs to thrive before applying for him.

With all of Teddy’s medical expenses, his adoption fee is $425 (microchip included).

6/11/2010
Just take a look at that face and tell me…what’s not to love? Teddy-Boo is a neutered male Yorkie, approximately 1 year old, weighing in at 9 pounds and is up to date on his vaccines.

This little boy was surrendered by his owners when they could not afford to repair his fractured hip. After his surrender, and examined by a YTNR Veterinarian, it was also discovered that in addition to the injury to his hip, that poor Teddy also had an “old” fracture to his knee as well that had evidently gone without repair for months! Every effort was made to repair both fractures but, because the knee injury had been neglected for so long the difficult decision was made to amputate his right rear leg. Our little Teddy-Boo became a Tripod-Dog all because of owner neglect.

In less than a week, this little guy has been through what some grown men could not endure and still he greets everyone with a kiss & a wiggle of his tail! It’s only been a few days since arriving at his new foster home but, so far he’s made amazing accomplishments!

In between resting & recuperating, Teddy-Boo has shown his Foster Mom that he can stand up to eat out of his raised food bowls, use his piddle pads with a perfect aim & even run laps in the back yard with all three of Foster Mom’s lil’ Yorkie girls…no surprise that he loves the girls!

The kind of home that Teddy-Boo is looking for is one with a (stay-at-home) Mommy and/or Daddy (both would be cool!), a fully enclosed back yard to run & play in. Teddy is dog friendly so, a fur-brother or sister would be welcomed as well. Even tho’ Teddy-Boo is a Tripod-Dog, this will not hinder his capabilities. He can do just about anything a four legged dog can do except, lift his leg to mark…that’s a plus! Please note, we will not be considering families with small children.

Currently, Teddy-Boo will still need a little more time to recuperate from his surgery and build his strength back while mastering the use of three legs to become a Top-Tripod-Dog. There is no doubt that VERY soon, he’s going to be one amazing faithful companion to one lucky person! Check back for an update

Maria
Adoption donation $325

Maria

This is Maria. She is estimated to be 2 years old, she weighs 13 lbs., is UTD on her vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. Maria came to us with luxating patella's and has had surgery to fix her left knee. She is now fully recovered but it would be best to keep her jumping to a minimum.

Maria is very sweet and affectionate. She is outgoing and gets along well with dogs and cats. Maria has gone through basic dog training and is very smart. However, she will nip if she feels threatened. Maria hasn't been treated well by humans and will need a family that is committed to her and can give her the security she needs to thrive and overcome her issues. She is potty trained if she has access to a doggie door. She would be fine as an only dog if her owner does not work. Otherwise, she will need a 4-legged sibling.

Maria will not be adopted outside of Southern California. Adoption donation is $325 (microchip included).

Oliver & Diablo
Adoption donation $500 for both

Oliver & Diablo

Meet Oliver and Diablo. They are 4 year old brothers. Oliver “Ollie” weighs 11 pounds and Diablo “D” weighs 6 pounds. Both boys are up to date on their shots, neutered and microchipped. Their owners were unable to keep them when they had to move.

Oliver is a relaxed, happy go lucky boy who loves to be petted and cuddle in laps. He gets along with other dogs and adults.

Diablo loves to be petted and spend time in your lap, but also loves napping on his own. He likes to keep tabs on you and will keep you company on your travels throughout the house. He gets along with other dogs and adults. Both boys need a safe backyard to play in and do their business and a home with no children. We have not seen them around cats. They are partially house trained and are making good progress towards becoming completely house trained through the use of a doggie door.

These boys have been together since birth and have never had time living alone. They would appreciate a loving home where they could be adopted together. Since most of our dogs appreciate having another 4-legged friend to live with and hang out with when mom/dad are not home, they already come with each other and are good to go! If you have the kind of home that Oliver and Diablo need, fill out an application and put their name(s) on it. Adoption donation is $500 (microchips included) for both boys.

Louie
Adoption donation $325

Louie

Little Louie...3 years old and 6 lbs. of pure love! He is a piece of work to say the least. This is the first dog I've ever known who pulls his doggie bed outside to sunbath and back in the house when he's done! Pretty clever little guy! Louie is a total love bug who would love to spend hours sleeping on your lap. At night a nice belly rub and he's out like a light. Oh yeah, he eats like a horse...I think his little legs must be hollow.

Louie would prefer a stay at home mom or dad and a sibling close in size to play with. A fully fenced yard is extremely important as Louie is a bit of an escape artist. No small children as he will bite if provoked...not hard but he will protect himself if he feels like it. He loves to go on walks...just show him the lease and you'll have his full attention. Louie would prefer to sleep in bed with his new mom and dad...once he settles down he doesn't move an inch.

Louie has a HUGE personality and would love to share it with a new forever family. Louie is micro chipped and current on all his shots. Adoption donation is $325 (microchip included).

Elvis
Adoption donation $75

Elvis

This is Elvis, a senior male Yorkie, 15 years or so, who was rescued from a horrific LA shelter. He just needs a home that will meet his needs, giving him lots of quiet rest, safety and comfort. Elvis is blind in his left eye from an old injury and has cataracts taking over in his right eye as well. He requires some simple, inexpensive eye medication once a day. Elvis also has a distended and twisted right back leg. He walks okay and occasionally even trots, but he's always a bit off balance and is unable to jump up onto a couch or bed (for example) even with a stool/step and should never be left unattended in a high place because he definitely cannot jump down.

Elvis gets along fine with other dogs (although he can't quite keep up on walks...foster dad is using a baby carrier with him), kids and cats, as long as they let him rest when he wants to rest and give him plenty of space while he eats. Speaking of which, he is a good eater since he had a dental that removed a severely infected upper tooth that had broken through into his sinus cavities.

He isn't quite housebroken, although he "gets the message" that we'd like him to use the back yard. He's had a lifetime of not having to….Recently neutered, this behavior may change over the next month or so.

Elvis is frail, he is old and what he most needs now is hospice care and a peaceful remainder of his life – regardless of how long that is.

Sammy
Adoption donation $325

Sammy

This is Sammy. He is 7 months old and had a rough beginning, however, with lots of love from his foster family he is doing just fine. Sammy loves to kiss, run, jump and play with his foster brother, Bubbles, who is about his size. He also likes making new friends. Once Sammy warms up to new dogs and people, he becomes a complete love bug. Sammy’s past owner did not treat him very nicely, so he can be a little uneasy when he meets new males until he knows for sure that they will not hurt him. However, once he is comfortable he loves making new friends and gets along great with other dogs.

He needs a loving home and a loving family, that’s really all a doggy can wish for. If you are interested in meeting Sammy and giving him a furever home, please put Sammy’s name on your application and if you can meet his new home requirements which include, another young dog my size to play with, a sizeable yard to run around in and chase his siblings because he loves to run and play and no small children.

He has already been neutered; he’s up to date on his shots and is microchipped and is ready to go home with YOU! Adoption donation is $325 (microchip included).

Sparky
Adoption donation $250

Sparky

This is Sparky. He is 5 years old and weighs around 6 pounds. Sparky is up-to-date on his shots, neutered and microchipped. We got him from the shelter where his owners left him when they moved. His rear left leg has a bad case of luxating patella, which prevents him from being able to straighten it. We took him to a specialist who tried to correct it surgically, but it cannot be fixed. His right knee also has a milder case of luxating patella, but he doesn’t let it bother him. He gets around great on three legs.

Despite his condition, Sparky is a very happy little guy. He is a love bug and definitely a lap dog. He gets along with other dogs, but would do best with small dogs that won’t play too rough with him. Because of his size and condition, Sparky will not be placed in a home with children. He would prefer a family where someone is home a lot and he’s included in the activities. He also needs a safe backyard to play in and do his business.

If you have the kind of home that Sparky needs, fill out an application and put his name on it. Adoption donation is $250 (microchip included).

Odie

My name is Odie and I am 7 yrs old, and weigh 11 pounds. I have all my shots and am looking for a forever home. I didn't like being in foster care very much so I kind of acted out when I first got here but my foster mom has been real patient with me and I am really a nice guy now. She says anyone should be proud to be my forever family.

I like men really well and girls or ladies are fine too, but men are my favorites. I get along good with other dogs and even cats as well. We have this bossy little Yorkie named Sampson here who kind of gets on my nerves sometimes but I wouldn't mind if my new forever home had other pets too.

If you think I'm cute and would like to come visit me and see if you might want to adopt me, please put my name on the adoption form, that's Odie spelled O-D-I-E. I'll be waiting.

Princess

Meet Princess, our little 5 pound “princess”. She was rescued from a local shelter and boy was she glad of that! She did not like being caged in that noisy place and now that she is out and able to be the little princess that she is, she is doing much better. Princess is around 8+ years old and she is still feisty and has a lot of life in her. She is a sweet little girl and loves being with her human caregiver. She hasn’t shown a lot of interest in playing with her foster siblings yet, but she has only been there for a few days. Princess would like a stay at home mom and another little dog her age and size to hang out with, even if she doesn’t play much with them. She will need a yard and a home where they are going to include her in their social plans.

Tess

Meet Tess. This little lady is a slender 8 pounds and is 14 years old. She is a quiet, sleepy little Yorkie with a sweet face and a history of multiple homes and recent human neglect. She came into rescue with infected ears, a matted coat, toe nails curling into the pads of her feet and a fear of people. With her new pedicure, haircut and veterinary care she is feeling better.

Tess will need a forever home that is quiet with no children. Tess loves to be out of doors so a yard is a must and a doggy door will also be necessary to keep her potty habits intact. Her new human must be willing to work with her to re-gain her trust with people. If you are the one to make the golden years of Tess' life safe, loving and happy, mention her on your application. Walt & Winnie
Adoption donation for Both is $500

Walt & Winnie

Meet Winnie and Walt. They are somehow related, or at least very good friends and we are attempting to place them together if that is what is best for them.

Winnie is around 2 years old, she weighs about 8 pounds, she is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. Walt is around 1 ½ years old, he weighs about 8 pounds, he is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations and microchipped.

Both of these dogs definitely love each other and they rely on each other for comfort and stability. At this time, we are not sure if they would thrive without the other to allow for each of their personalities to shine through, but we will be observing them closely over the next few weeks. If it is in their best interest to keep them together, we will do that. If they would shine better on their own, we will separate them and may change the adoption fees accordingly.

Both dogs definitely need an enclosed, safe backyard and no small children. Upon further review, we will soon know if they will require a stay at home mom/dad or just another 4-legged friend. They will either have each other or will need a friend when mom and/or dad are gone. If you are interested in adopting both of these adorable little furkids, please name them on your application. If the right home is not found for them prior to our evaluation, we will possibly separate them and adjust the adoption fees. Adoption donation for both Winnie and Walt is $550 (microchips included).

Rocco

My name is Rocco. I got booked into doggie jail for running the streets as a stray with no identification. I was matted, stinky and a real mess. Then my foster mom came to get me, the first thing she did was give me a bath I was so grateful that I gave her lots of kisses. She just loves my handsome face.

I am 5.5 yrs old and I weigh 9lbs. I am up to date on my shots and will be neutered before being adopted. My foster mom says I am very sweet and lovable and she can tell that I must have had an owner before I was lost because I am well mannered. I play well with my foster Yorkie siblings.

I need someone who is willing to work with me somewhat on my potty training. I can’t say that I am completely housebroken, but we are getting there. I will need a backyard to run and play in and another 4-legged sibling and no small children. I love to go for walks on my leash. My foster mom says I am a real good boy to get along with everyone and the cats too. I am so snuggly that I sleep with foster mom & dad in their bed and require a human bed for sleeping at night.

Harry
Adoption donation is $225

Harry

Hi my name is Harry and I love to play, cuddle and give kisses. I am a Yorkie mix, approximately 2 years old and weigh about 8 pounds. My foster mom is pretty sure I'm a mix of Yorkie and Jack Russell terrier. I am current with my shots, I’ve been micro-chipped and neutered. I really like to run and romp with my foster siblings and would like to have a buddy at my new home. No small children or swimming pool please. I am housebroken and my foster mom says I'm well mannered, but no one ever took the time to teach me commands or tricks. My foster mom says I'm quite mischievous and a bit of an escape artist so you may have to take some extra steps to ensure I will be safe and can’t get out. I need a smaller area to be kept in when I am home alone because I do tend to get into things that I shouldn’t.

I actually don't like to be alone for very long and need a stay at home mom. I got off to a 'ruff' start in life and really hope my new family has time and patience for me. I love playing with toys and would like to have a fenced yard where I can run and learn to play fetch because I am a high-energy kind of fella. My foster dad says I'm a cool little guy and lots of fun and very affectionate. I really, really want a forever home and hope I get one pretty soon. I hope you like my photos. I am really a lot cuter in person. Trust me!

Note from foster mom: Harry is extremely affectionate, high energy and needs a safe, loving environment. Adoption donation is $225 (microchip included).

Nano
Adoption donation is $175

Nano

Meet Nano. This precious little 10 year young man was saved from an LA shelter. He had a few health problems - all due to neglect. His health issues have all been addressed and he is very healthy now & back up to his recommended 6 pounds fighting weight. He had hair loss on his rear due to a flea infection. This was treated and, with good care and nutrition, his hair is growing well again. His vet says that, because of his sturdy constitution, it may be all grown in soon!

His vet and foster mom are so proud of him. He has the soul of a fighter and it paid off. He is taking no medications now & even though he is a senior, he is eating regular maintenance dog food. Nano is now full of energy and anxious and finally able to go to his Forever Home. Nano is little, but has Great Spirit. He loves car rides and he walks perfectly on his extend-a-leash. He wears himself out playing in the house with the other dogs and the kitty – who Nano thinks is a white dog. Nano is a great explorer and will find treasures under furniture you thought you lost forever. He learns fast with kibble motivators and comes to his name.

Nano is not a fussy eater so dinner time is no problem. He had to have several teeth removed during his dental, but has no problem eating dry food now that the infections are out of his mouth. Nano is micro-chipped, is UTD on all shots, is heartworm negative and is on monthly prevention. Nano’s potty training is coming along slower than we would like, but with consistency and perseverance, we hope to prevail. When he is free in the house and cannot be watched, Nano wears a belly wrap and he is fine with that as well. It is an easy and cheap problem solver. He is very used to this.

Nano loves everyone and everyone loves him. He is quite captivating; he is active and fun to watch. Nano’s new home must have a secure backyard, another dog his age and size to play with and no children. If this healthy little senior sweetheart - who doesn't seem to realize he's a senior - is the pup for you, please write NANO on your adoption application and let him light up your life.

He is very playful and active. Benji is shy around men with deep voices, but friendly towards women and older children. He has learned some bad habits in that when he doesn't like something, he will nip at you to stop you, but responds well to you telling him No.

He is almost completely housebroken as he goes out to do his business, but has occasionally wet his belly band pads. He loves chew toys and is very energetic. He can be vocal, especially when he wants something or when it is mealtime. He loves to play with other dogs and plays well.

Joey
Adoption Donation $200

Joey

Joey is about 7-8 years old. He weighs about 8 pounds. Joey was a stray whose teeth were in bad shape. It appeared that he had never had a dental. When he had his teeth cleaned, he lost all, but 7 teeth. This does not impair him in the least. He eats a little slowly, but eats dry mini-bites (with a little water) with no problems at all.

Joey is a sweetheart. He loves to be cuddled. He loves attention. He's the perfect lap dog. He is completely housebroken and always asks to go out when he needs to. He's the perfect boy - cute, sweet, and housebroken. He loves to sleep in the bed with you at night or cuddled up in a comfy dog bed during the day. Joey is quiet and only barks when he wants to come inside from being outdoors. His new owner will need to watch the fat content of his food to make sure that he doesn't have any pancreas flare ups. Being that he is a little older, he cannot handle too much fat and will get sick and throw up. As long as you watch the fat content of his food and treats (and don't feed him table scraps), you will not have any problems. He's been fine and has had no further flare ups since we changed his diet to a lower fat content food.

Joey is such a sweetheart that whoever adopts him will have the perfect Yorkie. Adoption Donation $200.00 includes microchip

Chloe
Adoption Donation $175

Chloe

Chloe is a sweet elderly girl about 12+ years old. She's hard of hearing and is losing her sight. She will eventually lose both, but history with both blind and deaf dogs, shows that it may slow them down, but they adapt well. There is no reason a blind and/or deaf dog can't lead a happy life for many more years to come. Because Chloe is hard of hearing and a little deaf, she gets a little anxious until she knows where she is and feels comfortable in her new location. She shows signs of shyness when she first gets to a new place, but adapts quickly and will sit next to you and allow you to pet and comb her. She is more timid around men. She loves to have her hair combed. She likes to be petted and will nudge your hand for more. She gets along good with other dogs.

She likes to sleep in her own bed and does not move around out of the bed during the night. She likes to have her food soft and likes dog treats. Chloe needs to go to an older couple without kids. She has a bag of clothing that will be going with her and her bed will also be going to her new home. Adoption Donation $175 includes microchip

Tyson
Adoption Donation $225

Tyson

Tyson is a 12 pound 11 year old male Yorkie. He is very independent and very much a man's dog. He tolerates women, but absolutely loves his foster dad. He loves to roam outside and hates to come in doors on pretty days. Tyson gets along with other dogs, but does not interact with them by playing or laying with them. He's a loner around other dogs. He loves squeak toys and loves to engage you into playing with him with the toys.

At night, he likes to cuddle up next to you as long as there are no other dogs competing for his spot. Tyson would be ideal for a single man who needs a loving companion and traveling buddy. He will be loyal and loving to his very own daddy!

Alex
Adoption Donation $225

Alex

Alex Xavier is an 18 pound healthy Yorkie who is 8 years old. He's a sweetheart that just wants to be loved. He loves to cuddle and sleep with you and loves attention. He is friendly with men, women and children, but is protective of you around bigger dogs and will bark ferociously. He hates cats. He gets along well with other dogs, but doesn't mind putting a dog in his place when challenged or shoving another dog out of the way at meal time. He's quite the pig and you cannot leave food out where he can reach it or that food will soon disappear. He loves to carry his food bowl around and keep it with him in his dog bed during the day.

Big Al, as we lovingly call him, needs a permanent home where someone will walk him and give him all the attention he deserves. Adoption Donation $225 includes microchip

Diamond
Adoption Donation $250

Diamond

Diamond just turned 8 years old, is around 7.5 pounds and is super sweet. She was rescued at the end of April by HSUS in Tennessee from a woman that had over 200 Yorkies, Poodles and Yorkipoos in a bedroom of her home. She is spayed; micro-chipped, updated on all her shots has had a dental. Diamond has a luxating patella but does very well doesn’t seem to bother her at all.

It appears that she has spent her life in a cage having puppies, but is now super excited to check out the world around her. Since we brought her home each day we have witnessed amazing progress. She is learning to walk on a leash and go potty outside. It is so cute to watch her exploring her environment; it is like she is seeing everything for the very first time. In the beginning she was very shy and hesitant to come all the way when called but now she gladly gives kisses, cuddles and wants to do everything our two other Yorkies do, including greeting us at the door when we get home. Each day we are giving her more exercise to build up her muscles but for now she still needs to be carried up and down stairs. She is able to jump on the couch and bed but we are trying to get her to use the doggy stairs. It’s such a joy to see her bouncing and spinning around like a puppy. Diamond is learning basic commands and seems really smart. We do not have kids or cats so cannot comment on those factors.

Diamond deserves to spend the rest of her life in a loving environment with folks who can show her the wonderful world she missed those first 8 years. I think she would like to live with someone who was home most of the day and/or had another small dog or dogs to keep her company. I can’t think of a single negative thing to say about her.

If you would like to give Diamond a loving forever home please add her name to your application. Adoption Donation $250. includes microchip.

Roxy
Adoption Donation $400

Roxy

Hi, my name is Roxanne; my foster family is very sweet to me and calls me Roxy. My foster mommy came and rescued me from a horrible puppy mill. I am a beautiful girl, who is spayed, and up to date with all my shots. I weigh 10.5 pounds and I have the silkiest, shiniest, Yorkie coat ever, I am estimated to be from 5 to 7 years old, personally I think I am on the younger side. I was scared of everything at first. But now, I have learned to walk on a leash and how to sit when I am told.

My foster mommy is working with me to learn more commands and on my house training. I am still trying to learn to trust humans. I don't at all mind the other pups and the kitty at my foster home. But, I am really scared of children, so it is not best not to have children under 13 in my household. I am still trying to learn this love that humans give. I want to embrace it with all my heart. I am looking for a forever mommy who has the patience and love to help me continue to learn about the world. One who understands the troubles I might have with loud noises and people. A quite household with a strong leader to guide me through life's new experiences so I can learn about all the love that my humans can give. If you would like to be the person who wants to give me a forever home please add my name to your application.

She has blossomed since her surgery and the loving care she is receiving from her foster mom. She runs and plays with her toys also enjoys playing with other dogs.
